Other: Name appears on Oates' roll with no further information; no ADAH record card. He may be part of the family of Tillman and Epsey Ansley, who appear on the 1860 Dale County Census. A family database lists James Thomas as one of his sons, although he appears to have remained in Georgia. There is a son in Dale County in 1860, Jesse Carter, who according to the same database, was killed 19 September 1863 in Battle of Chickamauga.
