1900 Clay County Alabama Census (Mountain Precinct 12): Jackson Wesley, 69, farmer, Nancy A. 67; Grady A., 8 (grandson). Jackson is shown as literate, Nancy is not. Grady was the son of Jackson's son Robert Lee Wesley. 
Moved to Marion County, Alabama in 1860, then to Clay County in the 1870s. Lived in Mountain Precinct 12, Idaho, Clay County
A cousin reports that Jackson and his family moved to the area in search of the healing waters of Clairmont Springs, and that they stayed in the church (Friendship Church, now Clairmont Springs) when they first came to the area. An instrumental builder of the church was Larry B. Horn, two of whose sons married two of Jackson's daughters.  
Schedule of property filed with his Confederate Pension application shows $112 worth of personal property.
