        Served as Superintendent of Methodist Sunday School for 40 years. Postmaster of Indigo Head 12 July 1859 
        (when it became Clintonville), Postmaster of Clintonville until 24 December 1860.

EDWARDS
Leroy M. Edwards served as Lt., Co E, 53rd Alabama Cavalry Regt., CSA. He was the son of Ambrose Edwards  (b 16 April 1805 in Wilkes County, Georgia) and Emiline James Gaulding. Martha Mizell 
was the daughter of William Mizell and Mary Love (daughter of Amos Love).

                   Professor of History at West Virginia University, 1903-1907; Professor of history at Louisiana State
                    University, 1907-1917; Head of the History and Political Science Department and Dean of Graduate
                    School and Academic School at Vanderbilt University, 1917-1929. When he became incapacitated by
                    strokes, he became Dean Emeritus until his death in 1932. Member of the Alabama Hall of Fame.
                    On December 3, 1943, a cargo shipped named the Walter Lynwood Fleming in his honor was 
                    launched at Panama City, Florida.

WARREN
William H. Warren was born in Wilkinson County, Georgia, in 1846, the son of Jesse Mason Warren and Mary Watkins Breedlove.  At age 16 he joined the 18th Alabama Infantry, Co A, but was discharged due to his youth. He reenlisted in 1862 and fought at Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, Lookout Mountain, Dalton, and Mobile. He was a prosperous and highly respected farmer in Clintonville.
