married Joseph McCormick after the death of Thomas Watson; her
maiden name is not known)
2 Jacob Watson, b
abt 1747, d October 1829 in Marion County, Tennessee.
He lost land under the Seizure and Banishment Act
because he was a Loyalist. He went to North Florida and was
included on a list of "refugees with their
Negroes, who came to the Province of E. Florida in consequence of the
evacuation of the province of Georgia".
Britain still controlled this part of Florida. He was listed as 1 man, 1
woman and 4 children with 6 black men and 1 black
woman on 18 June 1783. He went from there to Pendleton
County, South Carolina, along with his brother
Thomas. He was a member of the Head of Enoree Church (Baptist).
In 1802 he was granted 1000 acres on Keowee in
Pendleton County, and 200 acres in Canebreaks of Pendleton in
April 1803.
Jacob Watson and Thomas Watson Sr are on a 1774
list of residents of Wrightsborough, Georgia, protesting a
resolution made by patriots in Savannah
supporting the Boston Tea Party.

Be it remembered that I Jacob Watson Senior of
the County of Marion and State of Tennessee being Weak in body but of sound
memory -
Bless be God - do this day the twenty sixth day
of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight and twenty Nine Made and
Publich this My
last Will and Testament in the following Manner
Viz.
First of all I leave My body to be buried My
lawful debts to be Paid and my Furnal expenses. I offer up My Spirit to God Who
gave it.
1nd. I ordain that Nelly that all her increase be
left With William Watson My first son and Sarah his Wife and there be remain as
free with
them till their death And the rest of the
Children and their suving relations and never to be sold nor traded but
remaining with the family from
one to the other Shall remain free.
3rd. To Thomas Watson the second son a note of
the amount of One hundred and fifty dollars or his heirs signed by the said
Watson
and Now remain for use.
4th. I further more do bequeath to John Watson My
fourth son My big Bible.
5th. I further more do ordain that Jacob Watson
fourth son [fifth?] to have Berry the hogs and Cattle one feather bed and
furniture that
he live with William Watson and that at his death
Berry is to remain his serving [?] relative.
6th. I further more do bequeath the remainder of
My Property that remaining in the hoes to be equally divided Among all My
Children
by the judgement of the executors.
I also Make and Ordain William and Aaron Watson
sole Executors of this My last Will and trust for the purposes in My Will
Contain.
In Witness Whereof I the said Jacob Watson Sen.
have this day to My last Will and Teaments set My hand and seal the day and date
