From a family history by G. D. Wilson ....
At one time Levi operated a cane mill and sold it to a man named Dude Thomas. After a few days operation, the man decided he did not want the mill and accosted Levi with the avowed purpose of making him take the mill back. He was a very big, tall man and was carrying a big stick. Levi looked like a boy in comparison.
"You're going to take the mill back," was Dude's ultimatum.
"I don't make children's deals," was Levi's reply.
Whap! went the big stick and Levi ran, but only long enough to get his knife open, and then he turned on his pursuer with a vengeance. His first swipe slashed the arm with the stick, and a couple of other stabs followed. Suddenly the roles were reversed, now it was the big man running with little Levi in pursuit. Eyewitnesses found the role reversal amusing. And Levi did not take the mill back.
