Fleming Sanitarium:  The First Hospital
in Southeast Alabama, c. 1905

A two-story frame structure with ten beds.  It was built by Dr. B. J. Massey and
Dr. Porter Thomas Fleming;  later joined by Dr. Edward Lee Gibson.
It was destroyed by fire in 1919 and rebuilt in the 1920's.
