The Franks Casket - 8th c. Northumbrian, in whalebone. This is a plaster replica which I purchased at the Rennaisance Festival in Peachtree City, Georgia, in 1996. The Casket is inscribed with runes and scenes from the adventures of Wayland Smith -- as well as the "Adoration of the Magi"!

The lid panel (shown here) is in the Museo Bargello in Florence -- the rest of the casket is in the British Museum. This scene depicts Wayland's brother, Egil, defending his house.
