Submission Guidelines
We are accepting material for a third issue of Saxon Chronicles, so
anyone out there who feels that they'd like to submit something, please let us have your
contributions!
- We're looking for stories, poetry, filks, vignettes, artwork, etc.
- Apart from the obvious Anglo-Saxon connection, Sherwood & its environs were once
part of the Danelaw; therefore, material with strong Norse/Anglo-Saxon
flavours/themes/elements is particularly sought.
- Length of stories is immaterial - long, medium or short, all are welcome. However,
we'd like 15+ single-sided pages of written work/3+ of artwork if you expect a trib copy.
Discounts are available for fewer pages, please contact the editor for details.
- Adult stories up to NC17/18 are cheerfully accepted on condition that sexual scenes
are erotic & arise naturally from situations as an integral part of the story. We're
also more than happy to accept stories featuring gay/lesbian/bisexual characters,
situations, etc. - but, in keeping with Richard Carpenter's wishes, while original
characters and such peripheral characters as Tom, James & Dickon, plus the Sheriff
&Philip Mark are fair game, we regret that we can't accept stories featuring any of
the major series characters in consensual homosexual relationships.
- Reprints are welcome, but will be accepted only on the following conditions:
- a) that the work has only appeared in one other fanzine.
- b) that the work originally appeared within a period not less than the previous 12
calendar months.
c) Trib copies will be given for reprints at the editor's discretion - inquire for details
- We'd appreciate a brief biog of c100 words from new contributors, which can be as
serious or silly as you wish, but this isn't compulsory.
- We do edit, but only make minor changes re punctuation, repetition of words, chopping
up of paragraphs, etc. Anything major will be referred to the author.
- For further information, please e-mail Georgia
or Louise.
If you've read Saxon Chronicles 1 and/or 2, please send your Letters of
Comment to Louise!
We look forward to hearing from you!
