5th Annual Confederate History & Heritage Luncheon

Gen. Edmond Winchester Rucker Chapter #2534 hosted its annual Confederate History and Heritage luncheon at the Citizens Bank Community Room on April 16.  President Shirley Edberg presided over the meeting.

A moving Roll Call of Confederate Veterans was conducted by Patriotic Activities Chairman Cathy Odom.  Members and guests offered a carnation for placement in an arrangement, and gave the name and service information of one of their Confederate ancestors.   

The Vietnam Conflict Cross of Military Service was bestowed on Clemuel "Clem" Hudson Womack.  It was accepted on his behalf by his daughter, Laura Womack Rowell. 

Charles Blair was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for his help in the past two years with our Boston Butt fundraiser sale. 

The Winnie Davis Medal, presented to members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy for service beyond the usual duties of membership or office, was awarded to Georgia Fleming and Laura Rowell.  The Stonewall Jackson Medal, presented to individuals who are not members of the UDC for outstanding contributions and dedication to the Organization, was awarded to Stephen Koach, James Rowell, and Laura Frances Rowell.
