Fleming Multimedia was founded in March 1984 as part of Fleming
Publishing. It's public face known as The Printing Press,
printing everything from Business Cards to Magazines. From those early days
innovation was the practical order of the day. Having been grossly under
financed at it's inception, doing things better was the only way to grow. We
designed our first computer system to run Windows 1.0 so that we could do
project estimates and typesetting at a much lower cost. To do this we set up our
our Research and Development Group. At that time computer designs were proprietary
and standards were all over the place. From those early days we decided
that universal industry standards were necessary if computers were going
to be useful for small and medium size businesses.
We have played an important part in the development of those standards that
people today take for granted. Our innovation brought the CD ROM to the
mainstream in personal computers.
Less than ten years since our founding, we designed the first computer able to
play full screen full motion MPEG / Video CD ( and CDI ) video on a 386 DX
computer. Following on that we designed the first personal computer able to play
MPEG2 / DVD Discs. With the practical access to the Internet we
continue to break all the rules and deliver real solutions for the real world.
Much has changed since those early days, but innovation and creativity as still
at the core of our company. We still design and build the best computers, Disc
based Internet connected and related products on the planet.
