After the 12th month of service, the equipment is yours and we only bill you for the monthly service fee of $59.95! What is the advantage of satellite over dial-up service? AlaSat uses Ku-band technology that allows users to enjoy the benefits of "always-on" service. You will no longer wade through time-consuming dial-up login protocols. Instead, you will instantly surf the Web when you open your browser. AlaSat provides much higher speeds than a dial-up connection. Also, there is no need for a second phone line or worrying about a local access number. What is the minimum requirement for a PC or laptop computer to be connected to AlaSat?
- Pentium II class PC or equilavent with a 333 MHZ minimum processor. - Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows XP, or Windows 2000 OS. - 64 MB of RAM on Windows 98 SE and Windows ME; 128 MB RAM on Windows 2000 OS. - 20 MB of hard drive space availability. - USB port hardwired to the motherboard (USB adapters are not compatible). - 56 kbps modem and analog phone line (for 1-time registration purpose only). - CD-ROM drive. - VGA or SVGA 800 x 600 display. - A clear line-of-sight to the southern sky. Where can I see AlaSat work? You can test drive AlaSat in the lobby of AlaWeb's main office in Andalusia at 105 South Cotton Street. Can I add satellite TV service to the AlaSat dish? Yes, additional hardware can be added to the AlaSat dish that would enable you to receive satellite TV service. However, you will need to make arrangements with your satellite TV provider to receive this service. If my home has multiple computers will I need separate satellite equipment and subscriptions?
